OYO STATE: Fire destroys goods worth millions in Ibadan

According to reports, the fire was caused by an electric spark from an unidentified store in a storey building around 2.00 am 32 out of 72 shops containing Agricultural produce, chemicals, provisions, mobile phones accessories, building materials and a plywoods on the ground floor were completely burnt. A security guard, and neighbors living around the area, noticed heavy smoke from the roof of the building, but efforts to put it out the fire were abortive, as the fire increased.
The response from the fire service was not swift when they were contacted. However, secretary to the Oyo State Government, Olalekan Alli and Special Adviser to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on security matters, Segun Bolarinwa, visited the scene, Sunday afternoon to confirm the incident and the level of destruction.
