CROSS RIVER: Warring communities’ in Cross River sign peace pact

The chairman of the peace and Reconciliation committee, Hon Ernest Irek expressed delight that peace has returned to the communities after several months of war. According to him, with the signing of the peace accord, both communities will continue to live like brothers and sisters like it has always been.
The facilitator of the peace accord and a son of Mbembe land, Mr Chris Agara said bringing peace to all warring communities in Obubra has always been his desire and was happy that, God has been able to use him to bring peace to the Ababene and Iyamitet communities.
He expressed optimism that the peace accord by both communities will stand the test of time for rapid development.
On his part, the member representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Mike Etaba commended the Governor, Senator Ben Ayade for commissioning Mr Chris Agara to make peace between the two communities.
He expressed delight that, what seemed like an illusion has been brought to fruition, adding that peace remains the panacea to every problem.
