WILDLIFE:Massive shark caught near Magaluf is killed after scaring holiday makers

The 8ft shark is said to have
terrified holidaymakers at three beaches along the coast of the resort before
it was caught.
But it had to be put down because of
the nature of its injuries.
Video footage showed the shark on
the sand at Can Pastilla beacha, surrounded by crowds of holidaymakers either
side of an area reserved for lifeguards and animal experts from Palma Aquarium.
It was carried off the beach by the
experts called in to inspect it, helped by lifeguards and local police.
Tourists and locals could be seen
following behind, taking pictures on their mobile phones and selfies of
themselves by the injured shark, before it was put into a Palma Aquarium
emergency rescue vehicle.
One of the aquarium employees said
it had suffered ‘irreversible damage’.

The spokesman said it had been given
a sedative to minimise its suffering before being put down. The shark was
spotted three times in three days.
