MURDER AT UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE IN CALABAR

Murder in calabar university Reporting live at the cross river university of technology was a clash of multiple cultist group which has led to the murder of one of their member right at the entrance of the university Unidentified sources from the university tells our reporter that  multiple gun shots was heard at about 6:30 pm today within the school premises and continued again at about 8:00pm before the murder occurred outside the school premises. Sources outside the school whose name is kept hidden tells that the victim was dragged by a group of seven boys in unified colored outfit  to the round about directly at the university entrance where he was beaten up with burning woods from nearby market place before he was shot at the head to death . UNIVERSITY CAMPUS FLOODED BY RAIN IN CALABAR

  Sources have confirmed that the hostel accommodations were flooded by rain in the cross river university of calabar cross river state. The rain which started at about 3:30pm and lasted for more than two hours brought down heavy down pours and thunder storms which also caused the over flooding of a drainage close to the university sporting centre and expanded towards the girls hostel before covering the entire staff quarters of the university. Reports from students confirmed that the flooding was caused by a drainage that was filled with dirt which couldn't allow the easy flow of water. Lot of students belongings were soaked ranging from cloths to food stuffs to books and handouts. Student are currently lamenting the on going strike actions taken academic staff union of universities(ASUU), which is currently hindering the academic flow in the school system, added to that is lack of campus amenities like water and light. BBC slams buhari for medical treatment abroad

BBC has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for “an apparent lack of faith in the health systems at home”. Buhari was named in the category of five African presidents who routinely travel abroad for medical treatmentOthers listed were Presidents Abdelaziz Bouteflika (Algeria), Robert Mugabe (Zimbabwe), Jose Eduardo dos Santos (Angola) and Patrice Talon (Benin). Buhari was described as the “first among equals” in terms of time spent abroad getting medical help. In the report, BBC quoted Naziru Mikailu, its Abuja editor, as saying the public health system in Nigeria is terrible because of poor funding. ASUU Declares Indefinite Strike From 14th August 2017 Following the outcome of the referendum meeting held Sunday afternoon in Abuja by the union leaders, the Academic staff Union of Universities has declared an indefinite strike from Monday 14th August 2017. This the Union leader says is to persuade the Federal government to meet their demands. This came after several branches of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have voted overwhelmingly for members in both federal and state universities to embark on an indefinite strike to press home the implementation of their demands. ASUU branches nationwide on Friday held a referendum in line with an earlier directive by the National Executive Council (NEC) to vote whether the strike will be indefinite strike, one month strike, one week warning and no strike. Suspected Robber buried alive in Ebonyi

Angry youths in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have reportedly buried alive a suspected armed robber identified as Chukwudi Omaka. Omaka along with his gang members had allegedly robbed and killed a businessman, known as Idam Ogbonnia.Ogbonnia was reportedly killed at Amaisri community in the area. New Telegraph reports that Omaka was also among robbers who robbed a cold room known as Etuelughu, belonging to one Oko Udu Monday and another Provisions Store belonging to a businessman identified as David.The youths, after burying the suspect alive, reportedly planted a tree on the grave in accordance with the customs of the community against anyone who committed a crime.The tradition has been as old as the community.A 29-year-old brother to the man who was buried alive, Gideon Omaka, told the newspaper that he did not know anything about the robbery for which his brother was killed.He said, “I was in my house when people attacked me and killed my brother, Chukwudi....

Police rescue man with both hands nailed to a tree

The US Police have rescued a man named Jose Duran whose two hands were nailed to a tree in the forest area of Albuquerque, New Mexico. According to Breitbart News website, a city worker (who preferred not be named) discovered Duran with both hands nailed to a tree and screaming for help“He kept yelling, ‘Help. Help,’ and so I came and I saw him and I kind of freaked out because I didn’t know if there was any other guys around,” the city worker told police. Nigerian Universities no longer produce employable graduates – Saraki

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has lamented the poor quality of graduates Nigeria universities produce on a year-to-year basis.Saraki, who maintained that most universities churned out unemployable graduates, said that Nigeria’s university curriculum and teaching methods must be scaled up to reflect the demands of employers from both the public and the private sectors.He stated this in Abuja through a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu.The Senate President said: “This situation requires the urgent intervention of all stakeholders in the education sector.“What we have on our hands is an influx into the workforce of many graduates who are unable to meet the demands of both the public and the private sectors.“In order to reduce the incidence of unemployment and make our country more competitive going into the future, we must immediately work to ensure the careful and constant realignment of what our young people are learning in the classroo...

Popular Nigerian rapper and record label executive, Jude Abaga also known as M. I Abaga, has said that there is nothing wrong with being gay or lesbian. Lauretta Onochie, the Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, and Reno Omokri, the former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, have traded words over comments on Buhari’s health.
